Diagnostic Imaging Department

Pagosa Springs Medical Center Diagnostic Imaging Department provides new, state of the art imaging equipment: including a GE 28 Re-Con slice CT, IU 22 Ultrasound Machine, GE Digital Radiography (digital x-ray), and a new Portable X-ray machine in 2012.

How it works. All exams are sent by a computer connection to RIA (Radiology Imaging Associates), a group of radiologists in Denver, where the images are read from a PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and typed into a report for the referring physician.

The report is then attached to the exam it belongs to and your physician can look at the final report in usually less than 40 minutes in their office.  All referring physicians in the community have PACS  ( It’s called Inteleviewer) installed on their computers in their offices for viewing their Pt’s exams and reports. So, the patient can get their results the same day from the physician.

The Diagnostic Imaging Department at PSMC offers a variety of services:

  • MRI
  • CT
  • XRAY (RADIOGRAPHY)

  • FLOUROSCOPY (PORTABLE)
