Thank you to the Pagosa Spring Arts Council, the Dr. Mary Fisher Foundation Board Arts Committee and specifically to Kathleen Stventon and for bringing this event to our hospital.
I would like all Dr. Mary Fisher Foundation BOD members and the Upper San Juan Health Services District BOD members to wave their hands and be recognized! The phrase “it takes a village” certainly applies to this project and will continue to make it successful. Thank you to the community and specifically to all the daring individuals who made the leap of faith with over $1,000,000 donated to get the hospital opened. We needed every penny!
Open less than a year, we have much to celebrate in our success of serving almost 5,000 patients along with building momentum for more services and programs in the future. Many, many right things happened and have been managed to get to this point and a great thanks needs to be given to the staff for being selfless and sacrificing in more ways than we know to get us this far this quickly. THANKS! And please find the staff by their names tags and shake their hands!
What have we done beyond serving the 5,000 patients?
- Partnership with MRMC-long term relationship built on trust and service to help us succeed
- Full funding of a $500,000 xray equipment and connectivity for xray images. DOLA grant, equipment funds and donations from the community made this happen. Installed by end of this year!
- Swing bed capability-patients requiring a longer recovery can stay in the community!
- Surgery equipment funded for basic surgical operations. Plans to perform surgery by end of year.
